Subject: Reappointment of Roger Thomas to PFMC.
Dear Secretary Evans:
As a recreational angler, I am very concerned with the management of the marine fisheries off the coast of California. I am passionate about my recreation, and so want only the very best and most experienced people representing me on regulatory bodies such as the Pacific Fisheries Management Council (PFMC). It is for this reason that I am writing to support the reappointment of Captain Roger Thomas for the at-large seat on the Council. Roger has decades of experience on the water, owning and operating his own charter boat, as well as having the knowledge gained from serving on countless state and federal advisory committees, including the National Sea Grant Advisory Committee, the Marine Fisheries Advisory Committee to the Secretary of Commerce, and being an advisor to the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission
Roger Thomas has served in various capacities on the Pacific Fishery Management Council since it was created by Congress in the late 1970’s, and has developed a credibility and respect gained from his years of selfless service on behalf of his boat owners, crews and passengers. Roger is the best, most experienced man for this appointment, and he has earned a third term due to his hard work and commitment to management of marine fisheries off the west coast. Mr. Secretary, please reappoint Captain Roger Thomas to the at-large seat on the Pacific Fishery Management Council.
Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
