SAC Casino Night 2005 is coming, and it will be bigger and better than ever before!!!!!!
Since 1972 the Sportfishing Association of California (SAC) has been working to maintain the health of the marine fishery resources off the California coast and the sportfishing industry that relies on these fish stocks. Our passengers have enjoyed some great sportfishing adventures over the years, and last year was gangbusters! Catches of yellowtail were just outstanding, barracuda and calicos provided some super action, and the albacore size and numbers were nothing short of phenomenal! To celebrate a great sportfishing year, SAC has again reserved the historic ‘BALBOA PAVILION’ in Newport Beach above Davey’s Locker for this years’ SAC CASINO NIGHT 2005! This year the event will be held on Friday, November 11th, and with your help it will be the most enjoyable Casino Night ever!!
This is where you come in, as SAC can’t succeed without your support!! Please consider bringing your friends so that the eleventh SAC CASINO NIGHT will again attract a full house of eager anglers! You don’t want to miss a night full of fish talk, prizes and fun!
In 2005, in addition to all the fun of past years, we will have a new, Reverse Raffle, to tempt anglers!! We will sell only 200 tickets at $100 each, and starting in October we will draw 50 tickets each week, those names will be out, until we are down to only ten tickets at Casino Night. That night we will draw eight more and then give the last two a chance to split half the pot, which will be half the total collected from the sale of the reverse raffle, or have a last draw to see who wins the whole pot!! These raffle tickets will go on sale on July 1st, and sales will close on September 30th. Call the SAC office for more info.
Tickets for this years’ event will be set at the affordable price of $100.00 each, and for that fee all that love sportfishing will enjoy a bountiful buffet, gaming with fellow anglers, and you will be given $200 in scrip to get you started! During the evening, dozens of door prizes will be given away and when the gaming ends you can turn in your scrip and chips for raffle tickets and get ready for a chance to win great prizes, such as multi-day, overnight, ½ and ¾ day trips, trips to the East Cape, great tackle, art, and much more!!
This year we will be honored to have the co-hosts of “LET’S TALK HOOK-UP”, PETE GRAY & “ROCK COD” RICK MAXA, and the one and only voice of the Pacific, PHIL FRIEDMAN OF 976-TUNA, who will be on hand to draw raffle tickets and give out the fabulous prizes to the lucky winners! Call the SAC office today for more information on this great event, and to purchase tickets by credit card. SAC Landings along the south coast will soon have tickets for sale, so get your tickets early, as we will only sell 400 and it is ‘first come, first served’, so when they’re gone, there’re gone!!!

Again, please consider making prize donations and get your tickets, so that SAC can again offer up its’ popular ‘Kids Fishing’ programs next year, as well as contribute to political campaigns for friends of sportfishing, and continue to work on the issues that are a threat to sportfishing!
